Doug Smith is the General Manager of Solutions for Microsoft’s US Financial Services business responsible for leading Microsoft’s products and cloud services across Banking, Capital Markets and Insurance.

A proven worldwide leader in emerging technology, Doug was previously the GM of Solutions for Microsoft Canada as well as Microsoft Azure emerging solutions leader in the US, Latam, Europe, Middle East and Africa. He was responsible for launching key elements of the Microsoft Cloud in Microsoft’s Americas and EMEA regions. He also previously led Microsoft’s Digital Marketing Platform Group accountable for delivering on Microsoft’s digital marketing, e-commerce, and enterprise content management business in the Americas.

Doug has served in several Microsoft regional leadership positions as US Southeast Enterprise business, US East Region Financial Services business, and as Practice Manager for Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS).

He brings a strong passion and deep technical expertise developed through his engineering positions in operating systems, networks and TCP/IP network protocol developer background.

Doug holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science and in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky, experience as an engineer in the US DOD DARPA Program, and his MIT Sloan School program for crypto currency and blockchain.
